Workshop "Career Planning"

Feb 18, 2016 09:00 AM to Feb 19, 2016 05:00 PM

Kiel University, Leibnizstr. 1, room 106a

The main goals of the workshop are to reflect the participants’ individual career strategies and to develop individualised visions and career aims that are referred back to existing skills, experiences and role expectations. Furthermore, classical as well as hidden career elements will be explored and solutions to handle both will be discussed.

The workshop will give the opportunity to reflect on other than pure scientific aspects of academic careers and their importance. There will be room to discuss the consequences of being a postdoctoral researcher, to reflect on this role in the academic system and its consequences for individual competence development. Participants will recognize all the achievements and accomplishments they have managed until today, identify doable career pushes and get the chance to plan next career steps in order to reach their individual career aim without leaving out possible alternatives.

The workshop is open to all via:mento_ocean participants and to female postdoctoral researchers in IMAP and the SFB754. It will be facilitated in English. Further details can be found here.
